Gametrackers Safari Review
by Devorah Lanner
(USA)
Leopards resting on tree limbs in Nakuru was the highlight of our trip. We saw abundant wildlife and birds everywhere, including the Big Five in abundance.
Safari Company Performance
Gametrackers was referred to me by my brother who had travelled with them. Their performance was superb. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable and greatly enriched the experience. We went in a group of four people, not including the guide and cook and travelled by means of a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Food & Accommodation
We mostly did tent camping, which I loved. We also stayed in cabins in Masai Mara National Park. The food was outstanding, prepared by our fine cook. The meals were varied and delicious, so nothing was typical. Examples are pasta dishes, dessert crêpes and homemade soups. We had some traditional soups and stews if I remember correctly.
Typical Day
We were on the go from dawn to dusk - not a moment was wasted. We also spent much of the time travelling between parks, which was a perfect opportunity to see the countries and how people live.
One of the best parts of the safari was spending time with my travelling companions, including our guide and cook, who became fast friends.
Disappointments
I'm only disappointed that it didn't last longer!I would do it again in a heartbeat and hope to take another Gametrackers trip in the future.
Tips and Advice
Do it - you won't regret it. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.My camera and binoculars were the most useful items in my luggage.
